Meet the Team

Dr. Salem graduated from the highly lauded Icahn Mount Sinai school of medicine. He initially trained and obtained board certification in emergency medicine.

Dr. Salem is also licensed in medical acupuncture in New York State. He completed 18 months of trip training for complex evaluation of chronic pain patients and advanced pain and spine procedures at the prestigious Comprehensive Spine and Pain Center of New York.

Dr. Salem was born and has lived in New York City his entire life. He has been caring for acute and chronic pain patients for over 20 years.
He spent many years as an assistant professor of emergency medicine at SUNY downstate and Kings County hospital, teaching medical students and residents. While he was there, he developed a strong interest in using ultrasound for bedside diagnosis as well as to guide injections for the purpose of diagnosing and treating complicated medical problems efficiently in the emergency department. Dr. Salem became interested in complicated neurologic, musculoskeletal, and orthopedic problems that could be treated effectively without surgery.

With a passion for holistic medicine, Elham set her path to help others and pursued her doctoral degree in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine from one of the top 10 schools in our nation (Pacific College of Health and Science). With her constant drive to learn and grow, she finished her degree in 13 terms in a period of 5 years, being one of the top 5% of students.

Given her Persian roots and her cultural knowledge of traditional Iranian medicine, Elham truly offers a unique perspective on holistic medicine that should be shared with others.

She provides Acupuncture, Estim, Herbal, nutritional consultation, and a holistic approach to a better/healthier life. She is bilingual, speaking English and Persian (Farsi).
